  1. War of Words (Song)
    (Duet by Ellen Li & Sng Gek Hui)
    A familiar favourite in the 1940s, the song portrays a heated exchange between two famous warriors Zhang Fei and Ma Chao during the epoch of The Three Kingdoms (AD 220 - 280). Both quarrel over each other's heroic deeds and finally engage in battle.
  2. Wang Zhao Jun Crosses The Border (Opera Excerpt)
    (Featuring See Too Hoi Siang & Xiao Jian (China)
    The opera tells the story of Wang Zhao Jun,one of the four great beauties of China during the Han Dynasty(202 BC - AD 220). She makes her journey to a barbarian state to marry the king to secure peaceful co-existence between mainland China and the barbarian state.
  3. The Unfaithful Wife (Opera Excerpt)
    (Featuring Foong Pak Seng & Lo Siu Ling)
    This excerpt tells the plight of a poor scholar Zhu Mai Zhen in the Han Dynasty (206BC - AD 220) before he becomes one of its prime ministers. Zhu's wife Chui Ru Hua despises him as he is poor. She befriends a rich man and makes plan to marry him. Therefore, she forces Zhu Mai Zhen to write her a letter of separation so that she can be free to do whatever she likes. Zhu, being poor and helpless, has no choice but to accede to her demands.
  4. Mending A Mink Outfit from "Dream Of The Red Chamber" (Opera Excerpt)
    (Featuring Chan Mei Leng & Ho Gang Hiang)
    Taken from one of the romantic episodes of Jia Bao Yu, the central figure of the novel "Dream Of The Red Chamber". Jia Bao Yu visits the beautiful Qing Wen, who is ill and comforts her. Moved by his feelings for her, Qing Wen mends his mink outfit despite her sickness.
  5. The Magic Pearl featuring Frances Wong & See Too Hoi Siang The Warrior And The Beauty from "The Three Kingdoms" (Opera Excerpt)
    (Featuring Ng Lee Lee & Qi Chao Qun (China)
    Diao Chan, one of the four great beauties of China, is tasked to entice Lu Bu, the warrior, to create friction with his foster father Dong Zhuo, the Prime Minister, who has usurped the throne. Lu Bu is captivated by the beauty of Diao Chan and falls into her trap. The excerpt is taken from one of the most famous episodes during the epoch of "The Three Kingdoms: (AD 220 - 280)
  6. The Magic Pearl (Opera Excerpt)
    (Featuring See Too Hoi Siang & Frances Wong Kum Yeng)
    One of the most popular legends presented in Chinese Opera, this opera is about the romance between a water fairy and a poor scholar. As a token of her love, the water fairy presents her magic pearl to the scholar upon his departure for the Imperial Examination. The pearl is known to protect him from evil forces.
